We want to inform our community about the Tripoli Board of Directors' updates regarding student membership pricing and benefits.
Over the past few years, the cost per member for insurance has risen considerably, far exceeding the $10.00 annual fee we were charging our student members. The rapid increase in student members has further exacerbated this problem.
We understand that affordability is crucial, especially for students, and we have considered this during the decision-making process. Effective September 1st, 2023, the annual student membership price will increase from $10.00 to $20.00. This change will help us maintain and improve the quality of services and opportunities offered to our student members.
As part of these adjustments, student membership will remain exclusively available to individuals aged 18 to 25 with valid student IDs. All student members will continue to receive digital membership cards with their membership. For those students who prefer a physical, printed membership card, we are making them available to students to purchase through our webstore. Students may also purchase High Power certification pins via the webstore.
Senior members will still receive printed membership cards as part of their membership benefits. Additionally, they will now have the option to purchase extra membership cards and certification pins through our webstore.
The Tripoli Rocketry Association has always been committed to supporting the development of students' interests in rocketry. Our association offers valuable hands-on experience, networking opportunities, skill development, access to resources, certifications, and exposure to experts in the field. We aim to help students showcase their abilities and prepare them for potential careers in aerospace engineering and related areas.
We genuinely appreciate the understanding and support of our members and the broader rocketry community as we make these necessary changes to secure the future of Tripoli and its commitment to nurturing student interests in rocketry.
