As part of our continued effort to modernize Tripoli’s certification process, we are pleased to announce that the Tripoli Mentoring Program (TMP) written test is now available online through our official testing platform.
This system mirrors the successful rollout of the Level 2 online exam and allows Tripoli Junior members (ages 12–17) to complete the question/answer portion of the TMP certification prior to arriving at the range. The in-person flight test remains unchanged and must still be conducted under the oversight of a Certifying Prefect.
Why This Matters and How It Helps
By moving the TMP test online, both members and Certifying Authorities benefit in meaningful ways:
- Consistency and fairness: Online testing provides the same experience for all TMP candidates, regardless of location.
- Accessibility: Junior members who face travel or scheduling challenges now have a reliable, convenient option.
- Streamlined oversight: Prefects no longer need to administer or score written exams, allowing them to focus on flight operations and mentoring.
- Reduced launch-day distractions: Certification paperwork is simplified through standardized online certificates.
- Traceability: Each certificate includes the candidate’s name, TRA number, date of completion, and a unique certificate number.
- Confidence for members: Candidates can take the test in a familiar environment, easing stress and providing immediate proof of completion.
Instructions and Other Notes
- Important Reminder: The online system only replaces the question/answer portion of the TMP process. The flight test must still be conducted in person by a Certifying Prefect.
- The traditional in-person TMP test may still be administered through the end of 2025.
